Religion is based on good works granting us favor with God, which lends the question, "how many good works must one do to earn God's favor and get to heaven?" And also, "how do we know if our good works outweigh our bad works or our bad thoughts?" The answer, no amount of "good" can ever get us to God, making religion nothing more than a deceptive facade. You see, the only work that grants us favor with God is the work that Jesus did on the cross. Period. [Then they said to Jesus, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?" Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whose He sent." (John 6:28-29)]
